Post-Purchase Education
This class is designed to include the responsibilities of homeownership: maintenance and repairs, budgeting, record keeping, good neighboring, conservation and home safety. Predatory lending intervention, foreclosure avoidance and refinance options are covered extensively.

Refinance and/or Rehab Loans
SPNHS offers lending products for rehab loans or refinancing and technical assistance for home rehab.

Reverse Mortgage Counseling
SPNHS provides one-on-one counseling to assist elderly homeowners to decide if a reverse mortgage (home equity conversion mortgage) is appropriate for their individual circumstances. The prospective borrower receives information on options such as receiving assistance from a social service program or other financial options. Further home equity borrowing options are also explained to the homeowner as well as the financial implications of entering into a reverse mortgage.

Foreclosure Prevention
Foreclosure prevention services are provided on a one-on-one basis and follow a format prescribed by HUD. Services include an assessment of the client's financial situation including evaluating budgeting skills and expenses, advocacy to the lender on behalf of the client, enrollment in Financial Fitness education, referral to post-purchase education, and if appropriate, providing a formal referral to a local partner agency for an emergency loan.
