St. Pete NHS provides confidential, one-on-one counseling to delinquent homeowners at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure. Homeowners are counseled on the foreclosure timeline and the appropriate steps to take to avoid foreclosure.
- Our compassionate professional counselors review a client’s current financial situation with them and help them develop a workable plan to meet their needs.
- Our counselors review income and expenses and help to develop a realistic budget.
- They discuss available options (including refinancing options) to enable the client to meet their mortgage obligation.
- They help the homeowner determine the cause of the delinquency and develop an action plan to cure the delinquency and, if possible, avoid foreclosure.
- They present alternative strategies and potential consequences if the situation is too far gone for the home to be saved.
